This was required reading for my daughters school during the summer. She really enjoyed it though and found it easy (words, short chapters, etc.). My daughter is 9 and found some of the words hard, but maybe 20 or so only. It had an arrange of emotions where it had some sadness to it because of one owner being a bit tough on the dog, but in the end it had a happy ending.

Enjoyed reading this with my daughter for her book report. She enjoyed the many adventures. Also it was a good read for her to read on her own.
GREAT STORY. HOPE SHE WRITES A SEQUIL TO WOLF.
Jack the Border Collie is a heartwarming character. You can't help but feel his joy as a puppy, his pain and suffering when he's separated from his loved ones and ultimately his peace when he's given a new family. I would recommend this book to anyone, young or old, who loves a tale of hope!
Sheep was a Christmas gift for my great nephew who is 8. He and his grandpa have sheep and he also happens to like dogs. He really liked the book and got reading points for it at school. I fully recommend it.
my granddaughter had read Wolf and asked for this one for Christmas. Just like everything else I order for Christmas or birthday I eneded up giving it to her early. She was very excited because she is bored in these last few weeks before school starts
I purchased this book for my grand-daughter, she had checked it out at the local library and was unable to finsh it before it had to be turned in (I had rechecked it out three times). I have been trying to encourage her to read and she told me was on chapter six when she had to finally turn it in, so when I found it on I thought it would be a nice surprise for her to have it as her own, she loved it and has been reading it again.
Sheep is a sage and witty character. If I could buy this book for a dollar each, I'd get a class set of 34 and have my 4th graders read it with me. It's got everything you want to teach to children about life, death, and love. I'd also give it to older people who have failed to launch. It's a quick and easy read... it was recommended to me by a former student who is now in 6th grade. She was right... this book "Zings."
